Diary of a Somebody

Three years of studying Creative Writing at Bath Spa University and he thinks he knows it all.

I am constantly amused by the idea of creative writing at Bath Uni.

‘Actually, I know someone who may be interested so how about you stop doing us down for a change and casting all these nasturtiums,’ said Kaylee, glaring at Toby Salt. Good old Kaylee! You could always tell when she was worked up about something as the contents of her lexical filing cabinet would become all muddled up.

Later, I tried to write a poem using a metaphor that might somehow connect the contents of a bin bag to a more profound statement about the modern human condition but I threw it away because it was rubbish.

As I got up to read a few poems, I could hear Toby Salt defining the term ‘mansplaining’ to Chandrima although I could tell by the look on her face that she knew this already.
