Loving someone isn’t dangerous. Falling in love with the wrong someone is.
She’s my secret superpower. My beautiful angel and my darkest craving. She’s a saint a man like me doesn’t deserve. But she’s also become…my greatest liability. It’s dangerous to want someone so much they can destroy you.
“Shame you’re so stubborn.” He traces a line from my neck to the swell of my breast with his free hand. “Good girls get rewarded.”
“Go to hell.” He catches my wrist a second before my hand connects with his cheek. “I vacation there, little lamb.”
“No one will touch you,” he bites out, his face contorting into something dark and menacing. A contrast to the soft kiss he places on my raw and tender inner wrist. “I’ll make sure of it.”
There’s an inimitable energy between us. A current flowing from him into me—connecting me to a man I don’t know. A man who’s given me every reason to fear him. It’s the strangest thing I’ve ever felt.
Damien might be the Devil, but his body is a temple. Golden skin, abs harder than granite, well-defined muscular arms, and an ass you could crack walnuts on. A face so perfect your heart skips several beats. I’m not sure how, but he manages to look both downright menacing and utterly beautiful.
“Eden, look at me.” When I do, he says, “No one in this town is going to fuck with you once they know you’re mine.” He inhales deeply.
Love isn’t powerful because it builds and restores. It’s powerful because it survives destruction.
“Stop staring at the floor,” Damien hisses in my ear. “Hold your head high and make every last one of these motherfuckers eat shit.”
“Eden.” There’s a familiar dark edge to his tone. The kind that equally seduces and scares the living shit out of me.
