Kindle Notes & Highlights
Heinlein’s dictator has not (yet) materialised. However, it is interesting to note that Heinlein’s notes on how such a dictator might be elected into high office are mirrored by the rise of Donald Trump. Although Trump may not have won the popular vote (this is debatable), he did win the electoral college; he appealed, successfully, to far more geographic areas of the country than Hillary Clinton. Fortunately, Trump is not a dictator.
I wonder what the author would say about that last sentence now. Would he modify that paragraph at all in light of events since Jan. 2019, when the book was published?
