We feel as if we are lost in the middle of a big confusing and frustrating universe—like it’s us against the world. But that isn’t the case at all. The universe isn't happening around us—we are an activity that is happening within the universe. We are a part of the universe that is expressing itself now, in me, in you.
I run the best I can from moment to moment, and if I do that, I know I will arrive faster than if I slow down to analyze every mile.
But running here in the rain, it was never more obvious that the real heart of any race is not in the lead—it’s in the back of the pack where the pace might not be world-class, but it will always be fast enough to out-run the excuses that threaten to steal your hope.
