Paul is not saying that “man has come of age” in the sense that certain modernist theologians have used this phrase. He is not saying we can ignore the Old Testament or put aside God’s law in favor of “situation ethics.” He is simply saying that there is a maturing process at work in humanity just as there is in individuals.
