An increasing number of consumer goods and of services will be supplied without the direct intervention of money payment; that is, an increasing percentage of real income will not take monetary form. Theoretically, there would seem to be no limit in this replacement of money. In practice, however, the convenience of money, and especially its convenience in maintaining differentials in income, seem to guarantee its survival.
