How to Make Friends in the Dark

You should never hide you. You’re growing into something wondrous. Don’t be ashamed.”

This is a tremendous, universe-gone-mad mistake. Because my mom promised.

love makes everything seem better,

I will be in the dark forever, feeling around for a light switch and never finding it.

I have no idea how I am going to live with such a giant piece of sadness in my body all the time, knowing it will never get any smaller.

Because what other choice is there, really? You have to make friends with the dark.
