Bear in mind that whenever God creates a gap before any evil is about to occur, that gap is always good news in a bad situation. Recall how God told Nineveh through Jonah that in forty days, Nineveh would be destroyed. Why didn’t He just destroy them right then and there? Because He left open a window between judgment declared and judgment implemented. He left open a window of grace, where His mercy, movement, and miracles could still turn things around (Jonah 3:4).
