I’ve sat on panels where I felt excluded from conversations by the barrier of academic jargon. It seemed as though meaningful dialogue was available only to those with a PhD. In this way, the language is inaccessible to those who need to be comforted most.

It’s okay to take time to think about how certain things make you feel and to not know right away.

But also know that there is so much fun in not knowing and being delighted by what you learn.
