I’m going to act from the most loving part of my personality that I can reach for in that moment.
Above all else, I want you to know that you are loved and lovable. You will learn this from my words and my actions; the lessons on love are in how I treat you and how I treat myself. You will learn that you are worthy of love, belonging, and joy every time you see me practice self-compassion and embrace my own imperfections. We will practice courage in our family by showing up, letting ourselves be seen, and honoring

When I look at people with character, what they have is consistency over time.
My mother told me, “Before you can say ‘I love you,’ you need to be able to say ‘I.’”

Right now.
You know why we’re tired? Because we’re pretending. It takes so much work to pretend. When you can really be who you are and find out where you fit and function from a place of comfort, then you stop working. You stop wrestling.
It’s really lovely, a real, true happiness. It’s very pure for me.
the key that unlocks the path to a successful life. And that is: Trust life.

Funny thing about a mountain: It always looks easier to climb when you’re at the foot of it. —Oprah
It’s not a myth that some people make their best decisions in the shower—there really is something about the warm spray and lack of distraction that helps crystallize your thoughts.
“What follows ‘I am’ is what we’re inviting into our life.”
The moment I shifted my perspective from I am struggling to I am honored, my climb was transformed from an arduous trek into a still challenging but now stimulating adventure, and my entire outlook changed.
But love has to expand. It always has to expand.
It’s okay to rewrite my story from time to time. And not only okay, but necessary.
hard-core compassion
Each step along the way is just a life lesson in humility.
“I am a masterpiece. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am strong. I am talented.”
We are more alike than we are different,
life can be measured in exchanges of energy.
Ask yourself today, in the middle of your complicated, demanding, chaotic life: What do I want my legacy to be? And then start living from that intention.
We run from problems, most of us. But sometimes we have to run to the problem.
any difficult relationship you have is mirroring something in yourself.
What you appreciate, appreciates.
By contributing. By serving. By nourishing other people. That’s where real prosperity lives.
Wealth is a tool that gives you choices, but it can’t compensate for a life not fully lived. —Oprah
Lesson number three: Know the joy of doing what you love and never stop pursuing it.
give thanks every day for having the opportunity not only to make a living but to create what I see as an exquisite life.

You already know.
All spiritual knowledge is not cognition. It’s recognition.
The woman I wanted to grow into. She’s wise. She’s bold. She’s strong and resilient. She knows her voice, she speaks it, and she stands by it.
OPRAH: What did you discover that you never knew you had? ELIZABETH GILBERT: I discovered I could take care of myself completely. I’ve got my own back. And I don’t just mean financially. I mean emotionally. I know that I became a responsible enough adult to be allowed to be alone with the child who is inside of me.
it’s wonderful to be loved, but it’s profound to be understood.
It’s never too late.
The Universe doesn’t look in terms of good, bad, better, worse, success, or failure. It looks in terms of limitation and opportunity.
Who is to say what’s a success or what’s a failure? Do your best. Trust. Relax. Enjoy yourself.
Nourish what makes you feel confident, connected, contented. Opportunity will rise to meet you. —Oprah
We allow life to get so complicated—when it’s really so very simple.
