If you’re at a crossroads in your career or relationship, if you’re struggling with finances, with addiction, or to take control of your health, the journey to lasting change begins with defining what matters most to you.
Your life is not static. Every decision, setback, or triumph is an opportunity to identify the seeds of truth that make you the wondrous human being that you are. I’m not talking just about what you do for a living. When you pay attention to what feeds your energy, you move in the direction of the life for which you were intended. Trust that the Universe has a bigger, wider, deeper dream for you than you could ever imagine for yourself.
you should be in recovery and discovery at the same time.
Becoming conscious means to recognize when that moment arrives.
Purpose is dynamic.
My hope at the start of every conversation is to expand hearts and to create an open space for learning.
Whatever your calling, it’s already rooted within you,
But I’ve realized that moments of destiny are moments for which you were created, but they’re not the reason you were created. The reason for which we were created is to grow every day to more resemble, reflect, and reveal the character of the one who created us.
The ultimate care of the soul is being identified with the life that wants to live through you. So at any point, your life may give a hint that you should be moving on—maybe to a different job or even a different marriage. And if you hold back on that and say, “No, that would disrupt me,” you would be deciding to say no to life. I think that’s where the soul gets wounded most. Your individuality comes from your soul. Not from your head. It comes from allowing life to live through you.
“The more important an activity is to your soul’s evolution, the more resistance you will feel to it.”
the core ingredient of trust is
vulnerability—that’s unfamiliar.
The real issue is trusting yourself. Trusting yourself that you’re going to make the right choices. Trusting yourself that you can hear that voice and follow it. Trusting yourself. When people betray you, abandon you, don’t acknowledge you, whatever, you will be okay.
I think you can talk yourself into your dreams, or you can talk yourself out of your dreams.
There’s a shift that takes place when you’re talking about the possibilities more than you’re talking about your issues.
The shadow belief is always fear based.
What happens is we’ve gone into the mind and said, I’m not okay. How does everything need to be for me to be okay? And then we devote ourselves to trying to create the situation that we think will make us be okay. And when things start changing and don’t match that model, then we get scared, because it looks like it’s not going to work. Fear is a thing.
Life is a natural unfolding of reality.
Before you embark on any quest, you must first articulate your vision.
If you don’t have a vision, you’re going to be stuck in what you know. And the only thing you know is what you’ve already seen.
You say that every home has to have its own manifesto.
In character building, there’s a central piece of us that makes decisions. And every time you make a decision or have an experience, you turn that core piece of yourself into something slightly more elevated or something more degraded.
Please let me bring forth something that will help heal.
Your potential is infinite and is always bigger than whatever problem you’re going through.
We’re praying that the challenges that come will activate latent potential.
We fall off course the minute our intention shifts from following our heart to responding to what we think others believe. All of a sudden, life feels complicated.
But life actually turns out to be a sailboat instead. Every day you have to see where the wind is and check the currents and see if there’s anybody else on the boat with you who can help out. The weather changes. The currents change and so does the wind.
One of my favorite lessons from Joel Osteen is, “What follows ‘I am’ is what we’re inviting into our life.”
the world isn’t here to make you happy.
There are two levels of truth. One is to see the craziness of what’s happening now. And another is to see, from a higher perspective, that what’s happening now is part of our evolution.
you don’t transform your suffering, Oprah, I always say, with 100 percent certitude, you will transmit your suffering to your family, your neighbors, even to your country.
one of the big lessons I’ve learned has been that if I can be comfortable with pain, which is different from suffering, but comfortable with pain as just an indication.
It’s okay to rewrite my story from time to time.
Sometimes you have to see things through, even though they don’t cause you joy.
I don’t think you’re denying the facts. You’re just not magnifying the negative.
every single moment is an opportunity to be of service to another human being.
Maya once told me that my legacy will be every person whose life was touched by my being here.
When it comes down to it, life can be measured in exchanges of energy. Positive or negative: What is the energy you choose to bring to the world?
You can call it compassionate listening. You listen with only one purpose: Help him or her to empty their heart.
All the separation is totally artificial.
You are the mirror of all things. You are the totality of your relationships.
When you let go of trying to get more of what you don’t really need, it frees up oceans of energy that was caught up in that chase to now turn and pay attention to what you already have.
What you appreciate, appreciates.
Wealth is a tool that gives you choices, but it can’t compensate for a life not fully lived. —Oprah
Sometimes knowing what you don’t want is as valuable as knowing what you do.
When you’ve become blinded by the status symbols, it’s easy to lose sight of the unique gifts only you can offer the world.
What is real, what is forever, is who you are and what you are meant to share with the world.
I could not do anything that would not enhance humanity, especially for women.
Your message to the Universe at that moment is, I want it I want it I want it I want it, which is translating into, I don’t have it I don’t have it I don’t have it, so you can’t receive it.
And now I just realize we’re all whole and complete people living in the ebb and flow of financial circumstances that change all the time and do not define us.
