Of course, in an attempt to explain the extreme improbability of the fine tuning, some contemporary physicists have postulated the existence of other universes—that is, the “multiverse.”18 This hypothesis provides an example of what I call “exotic naturalism,” by which I mean naturalistic hypotheses that posit other unknown realms of nature beyond this observable universe to explain naturalistically otherwise inexplicable phenomena of this universe, such as its beginning and fine tuning.
