Oddly, however, an infinitely tightly curved space corresponds to a radius of curvature of zero units in length and thus to zero spatial volume. In 1978, the British physicist Paul Davies described the implications of the singularity theorems with great clarity: If we extrapolate this prediction to its extreme, we reach a point when all distances in the universe have shrunk to zero.
