“Vanessa owns Lilith’s Den. She used to be the queen of this place too, until she got a girlfriend.” “I assure you, I’m still the queen of this place. And my girlfriend is right over there.” Vanessa cocked her head toward the bar. “I’d be very careful what you say about her.”
At once, Vicki’s lips were on April’s. The deep, overpowering kiss made April’s world spin. Vicki made April’s world spin. April knew this was dangerous, but she had no chance of resisting now.
Next time don’t make me wait, Vicki’s text said. As April stared at the message, something dawned on her. Vicki had been waiting for April’s photo. Vicki was annoyed that she had to wait. Vicki wanted April just as much as April wanted Vicki. Vicki needed April’s submission just as much as April needed to submit. April smiled. Vicki might have the upper hand now, but the game wasn’t over yet.
Vicki leaned in, her lips grazing April’s cheek. “This right here? This is mine. Your body is mine. Your pleasure is mine. You. Are. Mine.”
Vicki shot April a smoldering look. “And you should know, I find that fire of yours sexy as hell.”
I would never keep something from you that I thought would hurt you.”
It was her. It had always been her. “Victoria,” April said. “I’m yours.”
“Of course I did,” Vicki said. She took April’s hands. “I love you, April.” “I…” April took a calming breath. “I love you too.”
“But you wanted this so badly. Your career is so important to you.” “It is. But you’re even more important to me. After everything we’ve been through, I’d be an idiot to throw this relationship away.”
“I never thought I’d live to see this day,” Vanessa said. “Victoria Blake, tamed and tied down.” Vicki rolled her eyes. “Like you can talk. You and Mel moved in together after, what, a few months? She has you thoroughly domesticated.”
