If you want to be connected to people, you must make the time for them and you must share adversity together, whether that be raising the kids, working out or going through hardships together. Challenge and adversity brings us closer, as does time.”
“If you focus on ‘what if,’ your mind plays tricks on you and you get lost because you get too far into the future or the past. If you get too far into the past you welcome depression and if you get too far into the future you bring on anxiety. Optimal performers stay in the present and focus on what is.
“You need a coach and an accountability partner.
Asking for help is a sign of strength, a sign of humble confidence – the humility to know you don’t have all the answers and the confidence to know that you are working to get better.
I don’t have time for clients that don’t listen, don’t apply and don’t make time for themselves because they use the excuse of being too busy.”
“You must get clear on what you really want and you must get clear on how you define success for yourself.
Success is purely to be measured by the individual and how that individual lives compared to the vision he or she holds of his or her best self.
“Be careful of who you become in pursuit of what you want.”
People need someone to emulate and follow, a role model.
They also need to have short, powerful self-talk triggers we call mottos to come back to as a strategy to keep your focus on the process.
Growth is the first step to mastery. If you keep growing, you will master. No pride, no ego, just progress and learning.
“Pillar #1 is understanding that you train an elite mindset just like you train your body or any other physical skill that you would use in sport or in business.
I started to see success as a result of training, attitude, hard work and preparation, not just inborn talent.
remember that his attitude determines his altitude and that the attitude he takes is always a decision he makes.
“Your focus determines your future and your presence is the greatest gift you can give anything or anyone,”
“Yesterday is history. Tomorrow, that’s a mystery. Today is a gift – that’s why we call it the present.
You are either going to get bitter, or you are going to get better.
“In the circles I run in, WIN stands for ‘What’s Important Now’, and what’s always important now is focusing on what you can control in that moment, being present, sticking to your process and being productive.
Learn to let go of what you can’t control and focus on what you can in that moment – that’s the process.
mistake that most people make in performance – they focus on what they can’t control more often than what they can ...

three laws of the process from one of the best coaches in the world: You must be in control of yourself before you can control your performance.
You have very little control of what goes on around you, but total control of how you choose to respond to it.
Your goal must be in your control.
The #1 pitfall that performers fall into is focusing on what they can’t control
more than what they can,”
reminder for Event + Response = Outcome.
We are not in control of the events that happen day to day and we don’t control the outcome, but we always control the response we take in any situation, and that will influence the outcome,”
one of the most difficult of all the 10 pillars to develop, it’s pillar #4 and it’s self-control and discipline.
You need to have a daily practice of mental imagery and meditation.
Imagery to see yourself behaving how you want to behave and meditation to start building your ability to gain and then maintain self-control and stay present during the day.”
“The reason why imagery is effective is that the human brain cannot tell the difference between what you physically experience and what you vividly imagine. The brain processes them both with very similar psychoneuromuscular pathways, which in English means you have a physiological or a body response to a psychological or mental stimulus.
we believe that you never outperform your self-image and that everything happens twice – first in your mind, then in reality.

you know what to do – you just are not doing what you know. Rome was not built in a day, and you will not get yourself out of the present situation you got yourself into over the last few years in a day either. It will take some time. Be patient, be present and be ok with not being perfect,”

Remember, what’s built to last is not built fast,
“Routines and habits of excellence are critical because we become what we do on a daily basis.
“First we make our habits and then our habits make us.
Things that are built to last are not built fast. Do work that is legendary, not temporary.
How you do anything is how you do everything. Excellence in small things is excellence in all things.
We never know how much time we have left and we want to be sure we are taking as much control of our time as possible.
Team might be the most powerful word in the world – more powerful than family because family is by birth and team is by choice, and there is nothing stronger than human choice.
They are created by choice, and they have a strong connection from the time and shared adversity they have all had together.
people don’t care what you know until they know that you care, and one of the first signs that you care is that you know someone’s name.”

We have to always remember that the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.”
“When you make your bed, you start a domino effect of habits that trigger an elite mindset, self-control, discipline and habits of excellence.
“As SEALs, we were trained to be machines of routine so that we could operate in chaotic environments without having to think; we could just react, sink to our training and respond. This commitment to routine is also reinforced through making your bed.”
“When you make your bed every morning, you accomplish the first task of the day and that will give you the momentum to do another task, and then the ball keeps rolling from there.
“It also reinforces that there are only two ways to do anything – the right way and again. If you can’t do the little things right, you will never have the time or be able to do the big things right,”
“There is a reason why most people fall out of their routine and get into a RUT-TINE,”
“People who have an elite mindset NEVER feel sorry for themselves; they are too busy thinking about the solution rather than focusing on the problems from the past.”
