The story got a further boost in May 2017 when Fox News and several Fox affiliates ran stories in which it was claimed that the hacked DNC emails had been discovered, by the FBI, on Rich’s computer.40 These allegations were attributed to a man named Rod Wheeler, a former Washington, D.C., homicide detective who had been paid to work on the Rich case by a Republican insider.
