I’d already seen that Vincent Bugliosi had no problem getting his witnesses to lie on the stand, and that Deputy DA Buck Compton gathered intelligence on “subversives and militants.” What I found next was evidence of more pervasive, top-down interference by the DA’s office, which took extraordinary measures to control, and likely in part to fabricate, the story of the Manson murders.
