“Vanessa told me about what happened the other night.” Vanessa had told James that she had taken Mel up to her room? “You know, with that asshole in the VIP area.” Of course. She’d forgotten all about that part of her night. “Right.”
Jess wanted to become a criminal defense attorney. But for now, she had to settle for interrogating her friends.
“I can tell how much you want me.” Vanessa pushed her thigh firmly between Mel’s legs, stoking the fire deep inside her. “I’ve wanted you since the first night I saw you in my club. And I always get what I want.”
“Thank you for staying with me.” “You don’t need to thank me,” Vanessa said quietly. “I would do anything to keep you from hurting.”
“And she’s not my girlfriend.” “Right. You just have an intense connection with her, you’re exclusively seeing each other, and now you’re going crazy because she hasn’t texted you in a few days.”
“If it were up to me, you wouldn’t have to work another day in your life. I’d look after you in every way.” Mel raised an eyebrow. “What, like some sort of sugar baby?” “You would never allow that, would you? You should know, you’re the first woman who hasn’t simply let me do whatever the hell I want with you. Outside the bedroom, that is.” Vanessa lowered her voice. “You have no idea how infuriating it is. It only makes me want you even more.”
But what made Mel happy was the fact that for the entire day, Vanessa had made her feel special. Cherished. Loved.
“Why did you bring me here?” “Because I want you here. By my side.”
“You have far more power over me than you know. I’m yours as much as you are mine.”
The press of Vanessa’s body against hers felt familiar and comforting. Mel let out a sigh. “This was always my favorite part.” “Mine too,” Vanessa murmured. “Every time I put my arms around you, I didn’t want to let go.” “You never have to. I’m not going anywhere.” Mel said. “I’m yours, after all.” Vanessa kissed Mel softly on the lips. “You’re mine,” she said. “And I’m yours.”
