Victims frequently are told they have no rights. The element of truth in this lie is what gives it power. The sinner’s only “right to . . . enter through the gates” into God’s presence is in Jesus Christ (Revelation 22:14). Our sins have forfeited our right to life itself, in such a way that all we truly deserve is our graves.
