It was because Christ humbled Himself and became obedient unto death – the death on the cross – that God so highly exalted Him. Paul, in this connection, exhorts us, Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). We see, above everything else, that the obedience of Christ, which was so pleasing to God, must really become the characteristic of our nature and of our entire walk.
