Dark children need teachers who not only look like them but who are engaged in an active, antiracist orientation. The conversation around the need for Black teachers must expand to having Black teachers—having all teachers, really—who teach from an abolitionist agenda.
How do we as a school have/not have an abolitionist agenda? As individuals? Do these conflict?
