Throughout her life, she’d heard many people say taking one’s own life was an unforgivable sin. But for her, a single verse from the book of Matthew stood out in the pastor’s remarks. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. It was her fervent belief that Emmy had been welcomed with open arms, that she was at last at rest. How could God blame her for being too tired to keep fighting? She had given it her best for so long.
