Another example can be found in the way that alcohol affects people. We all know that people who become alcoholics often die of liver disease. But we also know that many people who drink can become quite angry and violent when under the influence. Alcohol is broken down and processed by the liver, and too much alcohol overstimulates the liver. When you overstimulate or overload an organ, it will produce more of the emotions that it is designed to produce. The liver produces feelings of anger, among others. This is the mechanism that is often at work when drinking results in violence. If you have an organ that is diseased, overloaded, or imbalanced in some way, the emotions created by that organ will often be more frequent and more intense.
