The wolf blinked lazily again, one, two, huffed and smiled, panting softly. Everything about it said no threat. Cooper shivered but felt a little better. Or at least he no longer felt like he was immediately going to die. Baby steps. “Sorry,” Cooper breathed. “I guess I overreacted.” The wolf cocked its head. “Are you, uh, related to Park, uh, Oliver, I mean?” The wolf’s mouth snapped closed, and it snorted. “Is that a yes or a no?” Cooper said. The wolf looked bored with this failed Dr. Dolittle routine and started to sniff him again, moving forward slower this time.
