Cooper’s hand touched the space over Park’s heart, feeling its joyful pulse. Then he touched lower, imagining where Park’s heart might fall in his fur. “Don’t lie to me again. Then I’d seriously have to leave your ass and I don’t think I can survive that.” Right then, in that moment, he didn’t want to survive it. Park covered Cooper’s hand with his own and pulled back so he could look him in the eye. “You’ve seen the worst of me. You are the best of me. I won’t ever risk losing that again.”
