If you will grant me the indulgence to talk a little Bible, I’d like to share one particular verse that has had a profound influence on how we in the West view money and spirit. In the Book of Matthew, Christ says, “You cannot serve both God and Mammon,” mammon being a word that means “money,” but also implies a demon.
