God’s words of correction, caution, and rebuke have been deemed foolishness; bywords in pages of scripture no longer useful for teaching and training in godliness. In their stead are frivolous pleasantries of goodness, friendliness, and promises of unceasing emotional highs. Only the antiquated fanatics, the stumbling blocks of a “Progressive Gospel,” would witlessly “fear the Lord” because His grace exists to coddle, nurture, and make allowances for our sinful desires.
