Nor is a pond worthy of adoration because it contains fish. We don’t owe thanks to our fuel lines for giving our cars engine gasoline; we owe thanks to the men and women who created companies to provide this service. We don’t thank “Mother Earth” for sustaining us; we thank God. The difference between these two is idolatry and obedience: “Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry” (1 Corinthians 10:14).
