The free-flowing nature of the movement is preserved by taking in every spiritual teaching without intellectual discrimination (unless, of course, the teachings of the Bible are introduced). Every opinion is accepted—in most cases, dogmatically and uncritically, without need for philosophical cohesiveness or evidence. In one breath, the New Age movement affirms that all religions are aimed at one underlying truth about God and humanity, and in the next breath, it explicitly rejects the Bible as a source of authority on God and shuns those who cite Scripture in its proper context.
He was a monotheistic Jew who claimed to be the only sacrifice for human sin, and that we must believe He is the risen Messiah in order to be saved from the penalty and power of our sins.
This is why God considers consulting psychics and mediums to be spiritual adultery (Leviticus 20:6).

The text reads “did the same,” not “appeared to do the same,” and it says they “did the same” “by their secret arts,” not “by optical illusion.”
This is not the only instance when magic is described as being possible with the aid of demons.

It is common for an altar to be set up decorated with crystals, runes (symbols used for magik and divination), tarot cards, incense, symbols, candles, and pictures of favorite Ascended Masters, angels, or alien races.
This, of course, is a textbook example of idolatry. But interestingly, when it comes to the sin of idolatry, the Bible tells us that there is a spiritual reality behind the idol.

Deuteronomy 32 tells us that when Israel began to make sacrifices to the false gods of the surrounding nations (who, by the way, are often revered in the New Age movement as legitimate gods), they were really making sacrifices to “demons that were no gods” (v. 17), which stirred God to jealousy (v. 16).
The Lord likens involvement with idols to drinking the cup of demons because the idolaters are partaking of the substance of the demonic, feeding off of the spiritual meat they offer.

The New Testament is full of verses indicating that we are ultimately nonphysical beings inhabiting flesh for a limited period, so what we see from Paul is a possible reference to a separation of soul from body prior to physical death.
Nobody ever says after a bad experience: “I found myself in a different astral plane than the one I usually travel in.”
If true, this seem to imply the spirits fear the name of Jesus regardless of the mind of the person.
they were just “negative trickster entities,” “thought forms,” or “astral aliens,” why would they be subject to people saying His name?
If narcissists, sociopaths, and even ordinary people tell elaborate lies to produce a certain result, why would we assume any less from interdimensional beings?
Tell the first astral being you see, “I rebuke you in Jesus’ name. In the name of Jesus, I command you to leave me alone.”

Rather than being freeing and enlightening, New Age and gnosticism promote the ancient ideas of being in bondage to one’s own self-glorification, of striving to become God-realized, and of one day escaping the limitations of humanity and the physical world by achieving a heightened state of consciousness.

For example, a popular spiritual Satanism ministry offers teachings on astrology, auras, magick, self-hypnosis, incense, pendulums, runes, telekinesis, brain waves, clairvoyance, past lives, chanting, the pineal gland and the third eye, the chakras, bioelectric technology, the astral plane, spells, the Kundalini serpent, and trance.[75], [76], [77]
such as the Age of Aquarius, the five elements and the pentagram, Lucifer as the personification of enlightenment, Thoth, God as man and man as God, spirit guides, pantheism, sensual indulgence, spiritual rebirth through studying the “mysteries,” the All-Seeing Eye, and being your own redeemer and savior through “enlightenment.”
Since we have access to God’s perspective on everything, Christianity is the only worldview that gives you an objective interpretation on things that, when left to our own subjectivity, would otherwise be impossible to know or decipher.
Ironically, a personal relationship with this force is impossible because it is not a person, meaning it has no awareness, free will, rationality, etc.
The Bible describes a God who is a person,
not a force, and who loves His children.
In short, prayer is not a spell or incantation. Prayer is speaking with God. If a question is asked, it is up to God how He will answer it.
It only means they are individuals with their own strengths and weaknesses.
In the ancient Near East, there was an understood personification of the impersonal force of chaos.[150]
Those in the New Age movement are obsessed with trying to connect with the impersonal forces of nature, not realizing that the impersonal forces of nature were understood by the ancients to be so chaotic as to be personified in the form of sea monsters and dragons that threatened the survival of the human race.
Consciousness, New Agers say, is a fundamental property of the universe just like time, space, matter, and energy existing as a universal field. Consciousness is not a byproduct of brain activity, but is the building block of the universe itself. It’s the “stuff” that matter is made of and the glue that holds reality in place.
One form of “awakening” and “enlightenment” described in the New Age movement is to reach a state of consciousness wherein one is aware of being this unified field temporarily expressed as a human being.
Here is the question: If the universe had existed for an infinite amount of time into the past, why hasn’t it reached this state of heat death already?
The fact that we have not yet run out of energy is evidence that we have not yet crossed an infinite amount of time, but only a finite amount of time.
The New Ager who seeks to be all inclusive is, ironically, making the most divisive claims out of every other spiritual category in the world.
The religious pluralist occupies less than .5 percent of the religious population and needs to provide justification for the extreme claim that all fundamentalist religions are necessarily false prior to even looking at the evidence.
Jesus clearly thinks division is fine if it is a result of siding with the truth.
The remedy is to unify on the side of truth, not systematically reject every school of thought that results
in disunity. Pretending there is no right or wrong side is not the solution.
