Stage 3 – This is a “tell it like it is” stage. At this stage, people have to face the facts that change is hard and things might have to get worse before they get better. It is in this stage that they acknowledge that even in a flawed system there is some benefit that people are getting from it or the system wouldn’t be stuck where it was.
Stage 4 – This is the stage where people bridge the gap between where the system currently is and where they want it to be. In this stage they identify the leverage points they believe will be most helpful in effecting change. They commit to continuous learning and agree to meet to update and adjust their plan and goals if the data they are receiving warrants it in order to stay on track and focused on achieving their unified purpose.
