The fact is, you are not loving your bride if you expect her to be something only Jesus can be. You may think you are honoring her, but in fact you are doing something profoundly unloving. She was not created to be the light of this man’s world. She couldn’t be even if she wanted to. He is putting a burden on her that she was never designed to bear.
