The anti-lottery coalition, Alabamians discovered in 2006, was well funded secretly by a Choctaw gambling foundation in northern Mississippi, which laundered $850,000 through various groups into the hands of Alabama's Christian Coalition. So Alabama’s lottery interests were defeated by Mississippi’s casino interests, with God apparently playing only a marginal role in the outcome.

Unfortunately, this is still the case. Praise God on Sunday and then hate children the rest of the week by sending them to schools falling down, underpaid teachers, and archaic books because they can't imagine using lottery money for education. Those same people, however, will give their money to Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, or Tennessee to play lottery in those states. Hypocrites!!!
