Mistakes are simply opportunities to learn. Our children will make mistakes, break and spill things, and even hurt someone sometimes. Or when they offer to help, they may not do the task as well as we would have done it ourselves. Instead of punishing, lecturing, or correcting them, try this: 1. If they get the name of something wrong, we can make a mental note that they don’t know it yet. We can teach it again at another (neutral) time.
