Kindle Notes & Highlights
The Dying broke up the expectation that everyone is one thing or the other, and that in perfect simplicity, two by two, we will live and love and reproduce. People talk long and loud about the natural way of things, or what we lost when the world changed. But I can no longer believe that such a world ever existed. We have always been too strange for things to work out so neatly.
People abandon their babies because they want to make sure there are more babies. We are not a logical race.
