If parents don’t get paid for the regular work they do around the house, why should the kids? Chores are just something that everyone does to keep a household running. It’s a fine idea for children to learn a proper work ethic, but parents can teach it by paying for larger, once-in-a-while tasks that they might otherwise hire someone else to do.
