Listen first Trust grows when you take time to understand the thoughts and feelings of others before you act.

“Trust arrives on foot and leaves in a Ferrari.” The earlier version of this maxim, from pre-automobile times, is: “Trust comes in on foot and leaves on horseback.” It arrives on foot because it is slow to build, and it is slow to build because it is based on behaviour that is consistent and consistently positive over time.

“How do I perform when people aren’t watching me or aren’t watching me closely? Do I run as hard going down the backstretch as I do when I’m going past the grandstand?”
