Decision Discipline. There is a surprising inconsistency in Legacy Organizations: while they are extremely restrictive about who can make decisions, they are positively lackadaisical about how those decisions are made. Behavioral economists, psychologists, game theorists, and others have learned a lot about how to make better decisions. We have the opportunity to internalize a more disciplined approach to decision making based on all this insight. This applies to how we define decision spaces, how we size decisions, whom we involve, how we decide, and how we evaluate the choices we’ve made.
