The object of devotion is largely irrelevant. So long as it provides man with the intoxication of losing himself.
It does not rain because it wishes to rain. When the conditions are ripe, rain has no choice but to fall. It is the same for performance. Performance does not live in the limbs. It does not live in the brain. It cannot be exercised, strategized, or ritualized. One must understand the conditions that allow performance to emerge.
The luxury of self-pity. The sympathies of victimhood. Such things are not easily sacrificed.
The Truth is that if every man in the world found peace in himself, the “world” would forever be at peace.
To keep them in your orbit so that you may watch over them, without them feeling the slightest loss of freedom, is true caring.
