The Perfect Child

I called her first to let her know about our change of heart. She was thrilled and couldn’t stop squealing. My mom was even more excited than Allison. She took care of calling Mabel for us, and by the end of the night, they’d booked the same flight.

Maybe it was because we took our time doing it or because she was finally ready. Either way, it worked. Tonight, I’d kissed her good night and walked out. Hannah had checked on her ten minutes ago, and she was fast asleep.
