69.prajaapatih-This name of ours puts the human beings at the top of the evolutionary table. We have come last but we are intelligent enough to take control of all the species of animals that came before us. It is as if we are the king and the rest of the living and nonliving beings are our subjects.
The vidya teaches us how to be a silent observer of the physical, mental and psychological changes we undergo at a rapid pace.
sureshah-Lord of the heavenly bodies. Suras or the perennial givers of doles like fire, earth, water, air, sky, trees, mines, mountains, rivers etc seemingly satisfy all our desires. We utilise them to generate more comfort or bliss for ourselves. They are at our command and service. Like a lord they serve us.
sharanam-A refuge for all imperfections. None of us is perfect. So each of us needs a safe shoulder to lean onto. Be it an imperceptible God, a near relative like parents, a Sad-guru whom we completely rely on. Both as a seeker of sharanam and as a provider of the same, the inner Vishnu in us comes to the forefront.
pratyayah-In contrast to being a vyaalah for atheists we are belief personified for those who know us truly. In fact the Vishnu in us is a pratyayah, a complete and tested proof based knowledge. We are the very nature of knowledge, we are consciousness, awareness itself and consciousness is Brahman.
ajah-The name indicates that we are unborn. It means there has been no change in our condition. We had no previous or later conditions. To be born we had to have death. But consciousness is a continuous thing. From one body we pass to another which is not necessarily a man's, a goat's, a tree's or a pebble's. It can simply be air.
105.vasumanaah-The Vasuhs are supposed to have minds that are free from passion, pain, desire, jealousy, likes, dislikes etc. We are really like that only, having a pure and objective mind. By exploring deeper and deeper into our mind we can feel this. The morning sun, cool breeze, moonlit night and star studded sky do give us such feelings frequently.
samah-We are equal in all. Our wealth may not be equal. Power, height, weight, and beauty everything may differ but the inner light in us burns with the same glow. Pity on those who cannot see things in this light but we always feel comfortable with someone who thinks us as his equal, neither small nor big. Think about this twice. 110.
amoghah- Mogha means useless. Amogha is its opposite. One who is ever useful. Is any of us useless ? Strictly NO. Each of us is useful in his own way. Sometimes we are aware of this and at times we are not. It is a webbed world. Everyone one is linked to the other depending on each other's need.
115.bahu-shiraah-One who has many heads. It can refer to existence of many schools of thought. A big body of people who have many eyes, many feet, and hands. This refers to the mankind and to the entire living world who go with innumerable ideas, wants, plans all at the same time. As if a thousand headed snake.
varaaroho-The finest destination towards which we all are directed. Where this body shall not be there. Neither shall this mind and its variegated experiences. Beyond all the reasoning of the intellect, the feelings of the heart and the desires of the mind. No give and take. No pain and joy. Just pure and complete bliss.
vishvaksenah-We are that almighty general against whom not even an army of soldiers can stand. Remember the number of times you have got up and faced life. How you were back to the wall for lack of money, fracture in relationship. But you never gave up. You just fought back. And the enemy frittered away. Vishvaksenah.
not at all disturbing until the work is being done. The Vishnu in us is like that only. He just stands a silent spectator, permitter, supporter and an enjoyer.
chaturaatmaa-Here we are talking about the four aspects of one single self that is continuous through all our experiences. We are created, sustained and destroyed. That we all know. But there is a fourth state which is called Tureeya or the fourth. This is prior to and coming after all the three states. A state of undisturbed bliss.
chaturdamstrah-One with four teeth. We have more teeth. The lion has four distinct teeth. Vishnu in his Nrusingha Avatara had these four vicious teeth. This probably implies our capacity to grind away the sorrows of living, all kinds of remorse, self doubts, useless ego etc which are impediments to self realisation.
chaturbhujah-We are four armed in many senses of the term. We have mind, intellect, chit and ego to deal with the outer world and to realise the self. Vishnu holds Shankha, Chakra, Gada and Padma in his four hands symbolising all of the conscience, ability to detach from basic instincts, grit and determination to smother passivity and calm blissful state of being.
More than a substance it is a state of being to which we have been referring to all along. Again self effulgent consciousness is the closest word possible.
Food stands for all our indulgences, all our blindfold passions, the all encompassing mayaa.
Bhoktaa-And almost like an alter ego of the food we eat we are the eater too. We are the experiencer of the world immersed in mayaa. The sufferer and the enjoyer of both bad and the good. Though unattached in truth yet suffering and enjoying like an onlooker in a action packed movie.
Sahishnuh-One who is capable of patiently suffering in perfect detachment. One who tolerates the events happening around him simultaneously acts as a witness, a forgiver and a conquerer of the same. Thus when we tolerate we forgive our own trespasses and defeat the negative forces brewing inside.
anaghah-One who is not committed to any sin. Sin is a willfully committed mistake. We do many such mistakes and gather tons of sin. But all our tendency to commit such mistakes vanish when we are aware of what we are doing. The aware self in us is incapable of messing itself up in sin and thus is Anaghah.
vijayah-The victorious self. We have a feeling that we are a winner most of the time. Be it in exams, in contests and in various life situations. Feeling a loser shoves us into pessimism and we can't live like that much longer. We fight back in our mind and tell ourselves that no, I haven't lost.
