I still have a nightmare—the memory of this speech whenever I muster the courage to recall it anew. It is hard for me to believe I finished high school in the year 2000 touting so many racist ideas. A racist society had handed me the ammunition to shoot Black people, to shoot myself, and I took and used it. Internalized racist ideas are the real Black on Black crime.
