Black women first recognized their own intersectional identity. Black feminists first theorized the intersection of two forms of oppression: sexism and racism. Intersectional theory now gives all of humanity the ability to understand the intersectional oppression of their identities, from impoverished Latinx people to Black men to White women to Native lesbians to transgender Asian people. A theory from and for Black women is a theory for humanity.
