He says it’s when I start focusing on things that “Will not affect sales.” If I’m thinking about what the hi-hat sounds like, it’s time to stop. I’ve gone too far and I’ve lost my mind. Nobody in the world gives a fuck what a hi-hat sounds like. As long as it doesn’t break the spell, nobody cares. If somebody does care about it, then they work in a recording studio and they’re already too far up their own asses to ever truly like anyone’s record anyway.
