Circadian rhythm/SAD—As discussed previously, red/NIR lights are not optimal for use as SAD lights for treating/preventing seasonal affective disorder or for optimizing circadian rhythm with bright light in the mornings. However, the bright light devices used for circadian rhythm optimization/SAD prevention typically have a huge amount of blue light and little to no red/near-infrared light.
