I am guilty of belonging to that privileged section. I decide to drop my surname. From Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, I become Vivek Ranjan. My friends from college still call me Ranjan, assuming it was my last name. This is my penance for being a Brahmin. For being a privileged one.
