In those days, film celebrities weren't keen on doing TV and Karan was going out of his way to persuade Kher saab. These were my first learnings in the film industry. I learnt that the content is secondary and personal benefits are supreme. I also learnt that the celeb media men actually are the middlemen who can go to any extent to get their work done. Once he got Kher saab committed to a chat show, Karan's behaviour changed. For one of the meetings, which could have been done on phone, he insisted that I meet him in his Delhi office.
