A car stopped me on the roadside, and the lady driver handed me a $2 donation, claiming her husband was a veteran. He was sitting in the passenger seat and appeared to have suffered a stroke.
They asked questions about how I felt the hunger problem should be resolved rather than my ride. Finally, someone got it. It was not about me or the ride but rather the hunger problem!
A pit bull/boxer mix dog tried to get my leg for lunch but only got a face full of Gatorade as he backed off.
I felt so happy I no longer had to get up at 5:00 a.m. and head off to work as I did for forty-two years.

As I went to check out, the lady at the counter told me that the owner heard about my trip and paid for my room. This was a big surprise, as it was a costly room and the first time I had been given a free room the entire trip! They wanted pictures of me outside for the owner.
