Infighting is our favourite pastime, which we stop only briefly when the enemy is at our doorstep.
‘Everybody who is born will die one day, son. It’s what we do in between that matters.’
‘The Turks did not stop at Afghanistan and Balochistan. That was our land too, once. They did not stop at the holy Indus river. That was our river too, once. Even if they conquer the entire land of Mother India, they will not stop. They will not stop the humiliation. They will not stop the war. They will not stop the killing. The more we appease, the more they will demand. The more we surrender, the more they will attack. They will never, ever stop. The only way they will stop, is if some Indian dares to stand up and say: Enough is enough.’
‘With Indians like these, we don’t need Turks to defeat us. We are pretty good at defeating ourselves. Divided, we will continue to fall.’
‘Becoming a leader is not about being able to fight or argue or make speeches. It’s actually about realising what must be done for the greater good. And doing it, regardless of the personal costs …’
Darkness does not win because it is strong. It wins because the lamps stop fighting.
‘Give me the courage to die well, Great Buddha. Without hatred. Without anger.’
‘You have read the Holy Quran. How can you forget the verse that says, “To you be your religion, to me be mine”? Haven’t you read that?’
That non-violence is the greatest dharma. But they also say dharma hinsa thathaiv cha.’ Violence that protects dharma is justified.
The strength of the Islam of the Turks is that it is socially inclusive, but its weakness is that it is theologically intolerant. On the other hand, the Hinduism of us Indians is theologically inclusive and liberal, while socially we are intolerant.’
If you go around the world picking fights with everyone who disagrees with you, it’s only a matter of time before everyone will ally together to fight you. That’s the problem with their theological intolerance. They make enemies out of everybody. This is precisely the issue that the Sufis will solve.’
‘Lord Parshu Ram had said that a true warrior loves his country more than he loves his own soul. And if, by taking a sin on his soul, by sacrificing his own chance at moksha, he can protect the people who depend on him, then he should do it. Without hesitation.’
A nation is not built by those who hate it, it is built on the shoulders of those who love it!’
Come to India as devotees, and our motherland will open her heart for you. Dare to come as invaders, and we will burn every single one of you.
