to take our place on the cross. When Christ cried out, “It is finished,” He was saying, “The bill is paid in full.” He took the shame, the punishment on Himself so that when we are in relationship with Him, when we trust that finished work on the cross, we are forgiven, we are loved, and we are free. There is nothing that you or I can add to what Jesus has already done.
