Seeker

An exhausted, sleeping mother could ignore jarring thunderclaps, but would awaken immediately at the whimper of her baby. Her subconscious had taken in both the whimper and the thunderclap, but had known that only the whimper needed to be elevated to headquarters for further conscious attention.

The species was grasping an elephant’s trunk and only able to sense a snake, completely missing the massive pachyderm behind it.

He had seen her vulnerable and strong. Terrified and euphoric. In moments of utter despair, and in moments of total triumph. He had witnessed her brilliance, and spirit, and sense of humor. The word extraordinary didn’t do her justice.
